Beningbrough Hall, Gallery, and Gardens
Beningbrough Hall doesn't require prior arrangement to visit. As a result of the Grand Tour, John Bourchier opened Beningbrough Hall as an Italian Palace located between York, Harrogate, and Leeds. The first floor Saloon Galleries are currently home to the Arts Council Collection exhibition In the moment: the art of wellbeing. Consisting of fourteen pieces from artists such as Emin, Moore, Hirst, Riley, and Chagall. The rest of the hall remains closed to visitors at this time due to renovations taking place on parts of the structure and other necessary upgrades like heating and cooling systems. A working walled garden, grand herbaceous borders, sweeping lawns and a play area for children to let off some steam is an award-winning design that creates a year-round garden area. RHS Chelsea Gold Award winner Andy Sturgeon has been working with the garden team who have already created a ha-ha walk with over 300,000 spring bulbs and the pergola. Further development of this beautiful space is currently on pause so that a portion of it can be seeded with wildflower seeds to add color and attract wildlife.
